Day 13: Captain America: Civil War
Captain America civil war, or as I like to call it, Avengers 2.5.
This is easily one of Marvel’s greatest films (so far)
Basically the plot is Tony and Steve are going toe to toe in a battle royal for the freedom of superheroes. It ends in a good fight, with Tony having a near death experience by the hands of Cap.
Here’s the line up:
Team Iron Man:
- Vision
- Black Panther
- Spiderman
- Black widow
- War Machine
Team Cap:
- Hawkeye
- Scarlet Witch
- Falcon
- Winter Soldier
- Ant-man
Obviously Tony’s team is the stronger team just with Vision alone. Everybody was extra hype for this movie because of two people: Spiderman and Black Panther. We all knew black panther was coming, it was just a matter of when. But spiderman…the fanboys have been fighting for spiderman to join the squad since iron man came out. Finally they got their wish. I’m not a major spidey fan, but my friend is and from what I understand, they hit the mark on this one.
Toby Maguire will always be my spider-man though.
Ant-Man gets big! I was watin for that to happen! That was the reason why I didn’t watch ant-man; because he only got small, not big. I hope he turns up for infinity war!
Civil war also serves as somewhat of an origin story for black panther. Which is great because when we finally get to watch black panther we don’t have to sit through the same old “superheroes parents are dead so it sparks the main character” cliche. We just go right into it.
Bucky starts to go down the road of redemption.
A large portion of the plot revolves around Bucky trying to prove his innocence to a line of recent crimes. His good friend Steve comes to his defense, while Tony accuses him. He also learns that Bucky killed his parents which inevitably leads to the 3 of them hashing it out in a cave somewhere.
At the end, everyone on cap’s side is in jail. Steve has gone rogue. Rhodey is gettin too old for this shit, and it’s the beginning of the end
